Kanani Koster | Creative Director

Kanani Koster, a Kanaka Maoli director based in PDX/LAX, is a ‘24 American Film Institute Directing Fellow and is a finalist in the Tribeca Film Festival - AT&T Untold Stories competition for her film “Shoots”. Kanani has spoken on numerous panels about race, diversity, and representation in film. Additionally, she served as a judge for the 2022 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. Kanani won the 2020 Oregon Made Film Grant for her docu-short "Any Oregon Sunday" and was a 2020 Portland Art Museum Re:Imagined Artist recipient. She also works with Collective Eye Film distribution as a films acquisitions manager.

Travis Koster |

Education Director

Travis is a graduate of Antioch University, an educator, and a film producer living in Pasadena, CA. Originally from Seattle, WA, Travis loves music, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife, son, and brindle boxer. His favorite film is “The Shining.” Travis co-founded Cherry Street Films nine years ago with his wife Kanani. Their mission is to bring equitable digital storytelling curriculum to classrooms in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Currently, Travis is working as the Executive Producer on the upcoming film "Lucky Cat," which is being produced in Taiwan.

Journey Morrison | Registrar / Manager

Journey Morrison is Cherry Street Films' Program Manager and Registrar, and hails from North Bend, Washington. He is a graduate of Western Washington University with a BA in History and a minor in Film Studies. Journey has worked as at NW Film Camp since its infancy, with a passion for inspiring youth to use creativity as a medium for change in the world. Since his university graduation he has also worked on a variety of different short film and music video projects in the greater Seattle area.

Stephanie Ward-Harvey | Program Manager

Stephanie Ward-Harvey is a writer, director, artist and a 2022 graduate from Western Washington University with a BA in theatre and creative writing. Born and raised in the PNW, she currently resides in Vancouver, WA. When she isn't coming up with cool films, she is petting her cats, sipping chai tea, playing video games and doodling on her IPad. She has a passion for storytelling in all forms but her favorite films currently are "Alien" and "Everything Everywhere All At Once." Her goal is to encourage positive growth and creativity in the classroom while having tons of fun!

Diana Goron |

Teaching Artist - Seattle

Diana Goron is an editor, and designer living in Seattle, WA. Diana graduated with a BA in Cinema production and digital image arts from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her experience includes working in a creative agency environment with diverse clients, and freelancing. When in university, a professor made it clear that “if you are pursuing film, you have something to say.” This philosophy drives Diana's dedication to mentoring young filmmakers, encouraging them to share their unique stories with the world. Besides filmmaking, Diana is interested in 3D art, creative tech, running, and exploring Seattle’s vibrant coffee scene. 

Zoe Rogan |

Teaching Artist - Kirkland

Zoe is a graduate of Seattle University, majoring in Creative Writing with a minor in Film. Her writing spans several mediums, including short stories, plays, scripts, and longform fiction. Her passions are film history and analysis, along with writing fiction. Other than watching and writing about movies, she likes to spend her free time hanging out with dogs and cats, reading, and debating the subtext of whatever film she's most recently watched. She is so excited to help young filmmakers bring their ideas to fruition!

Kendra Pook | Teaching Artist - Seattle

Kendra Pook is a graduate of Biola University's School of Cinema and Media Arts from Seattle, Washington. Her love for photography growing up made her pursue an emphasis in cinematography. While at Biola, she worked on over 70 productions, 30 of which she was the DP. Being in Hollywood taught Kendra so much about the industry that she is excited to share as a teaching artist. Her goal with her career is to make stories that matter and to empower others to pursue their passions in filmmaking.

Lead Teaching Artist - Portland

Hi! I’m Will. I’m a graduate of Western Washington University where I worked as the head video production coordinator. I’ve been a freelance editor for over ten years and have work on national commercials and television productions. Currently I work in broadcasting for the Portland Timbers. I love every aspect of film production, but my favorite has to be editing, especially VFX and compositing. I’m so excited to foster students’ creativity and hopefully inspire the next generation of filmmakers!

Scott Chiu  | Lead Teaching Artist - Boise / Bend

Scott Chiu is a visionary and innovative Taiwanese filmmaker with a deep passion for education, film production, and management. Fluent in both Mandarin and English, he brings a unique blend of creativity and skill to his work. Scott is currently producing an exciting new film based in Taiwan called "Lucky Cat." This project showcases his talent and dedication to storytelling through cinema. His love for filmmaking stems from his desire to create impactful narratives that resonate with audiences and explore the rich cultural heritage of Taiwan.

Joseph Rodman | Teaching Artist - Boise

Joseph Rodman graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television Production. His passion for filmmaking started while he was in high school where he received a Technical Diploma in Radio and Television. After high school, Joseph moved to New York City where he earned a Certificate in Advanced Filmmaking Production at The Digital Film Academy. While in New York, he worked on several feature films, including one where he was nominated for Best Film Editor in the Madrid, Spain, International Film Festival. Joseph continued his education at Delaware Technical Community College where he earned his associate’s degree in Multimedia, before he attended Boise State. Other than filmmaking, Joseph enjoys painting, cooking, and reading.

Anna Weaver | Lead Teaching Artist - Bellevue

Anna Weaver (she/her) is motivated by a deep conviction in the power of the arts in education. She has developed her teaching artistry through working at Round House Theatre in Silver Spring, MD and Seattle Children’s Theatre in Seattle, WA. She has also worked in educational programming with the School and Community Programs teams at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. and the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts in Vienna, VA. Anna holds a BA from Johns Hopkins University in Film and Media Studies and continues to explore her own artistic practice through writing and directing film, theatre, and new media projects. Growing up an Air Force brat, Anna has lived in too many places to count, but considers Seattle home. She loves running, baking, and watching (and endlessly discussing) movies.

Zach Harrington | Teaching Assistant - Vancouver

Zach recently graduated from Pacific University with a degree in film/video production. Growing up, he loved making short videos with his friends such as spy thrillers, stop motion animations, and Star Wars fan projects. Additionally, he attended a number of video production camps throughout his childhood. His favorite part of the filmmaking process is post production, and would love to someday edit films/videos as a career. In his free time, Zach likes to play guitar, either playing along to his favorite bands or attempting to write his own songs.

Charlie Embre | Teaching Artist - Vancouver

Charlie is a film student about to start his fourth year. His favorite things to do in film are editing, script supervising, and writing. When he’s not doing things related to film, Charlie’s hobbies include studying Hebrew, playing guitar, and pacing around in circles. Counterclockwise. As an older brother & uncle of many, he takes interest in working with children and listening to what they have to say.

Olivia Near | Marketing Intern / Teaching Assistant - Seattle

Olivia will study film and television production at Chapman University this fall after realizing her love for filmmaking when she attended the NW Film Camp in 2022. She is returning this year as an assistant instructor and is incredibly excited to help others realize their passion for film the same way she did. Outside of film, she enjoys running Dungeons and Dragons games, rewatching The Lord of the Rings, playing Baldur’s Gate III, and catching up on the latest episode of Critical Role.
